Painting the Past

This series stemmed from my desire to explore, understand, and make peace with my own memories and family history. The work has its roots in my unofficial role as family archivist, when I inherited collections of old family photos. These pieces are inspired by some of the photos I found from my mother’s family, interpreting the past through the lens of the present.
